Man schläft ganz gut auf der Schattenseite von Grindelwald, am Fusse des Eigers.
Die Sonne schien uns bei Abmarsch bereits ins Gesicht und so machten wir uns auf den Weg Richtung kleine Scheidegg.
Der Trail war steiler als gedacht, allerdings breit und sehr angenehm.
Der Eiger steht mächtig, in seiner ganzen Pracht vor uns und zeigt uns auf wie klein wir doch sind.
Anders als erwartet, sahen wir nicht sonderlich viele andere Wanderer.
Dem Rummel auf der Kleinen Scheidegg nach zu urteilen aber kein Wunder, die kamen ja wieder mal alle mit dem Zug.
Auch wir verweilten eine Weile oben auf der Kleinen Scheidegg (2061m.), waren uns jedoch einig, dass es nur 10 Minuten Fussmarsch vom Bahnhof entfernt die viel schönere Aussicht zu sehen gab.
Es ist ein weiterer wunderschöner, sonniger Tag und wir erleben die Schweiz wieder Mal von der absolut Schoggi-Seite.
Der letzte Teil des Abstieges ging dann aber in die Beine. Steil und felsig war es bis nach Lauterbrunnen runter.
Ab Morgen Mittag soll es regnen, so entschieden wir uns die Gondel bzw. Zug zu nehmen bis nach Mürren um morgen bei gutem Wetter auf die Sefinefurgge aufsteigen können.
Wir genossen ein sehr feines Abendessen im Hotel Regina und campten nur ein wenig oberhalb der Schilthorbahn.
We slept well right at the feet of Mount Eiger. Another beautiful day was
waiting for us. The sun came out when we started hiking early today.
The trail on the Kleine Scheidegg was steep but wide and nice to walk.
The Eiger stands there like a massive wall of rock and shows us one again how small we are...
Against my expetentions, there weren't that many other people on trail but as we reached the top of the Kleine Scheidegg we were in a crowded tourist melee.
It looked petty different when we were up on th top of Kleine Scheidegg on (2061m.)
This place was crowded with tourists again.
We stayed up there for a short while as well and couldn't believe how busy the train station was.
All the tourists must change the train on the Kleine Scheidegg to reach the top of Europe.
Only a 10 minute walk down from this train station though we had the most beautiful view on Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau without train wires and tourists.
The weather was fantastic one more time. Switzerland shows it from the best.
It was a very pretty descent but the last piece was very steep and rocky. I could feel my feet ache for the very first time on trail a little bit.
Rain is predicted for tomorrow after lunchtime. We have decided to take the gondola and the train up to Mürren.
This will give us clear views today and tonight as well as shorten our day a bit for tomorrow.
We had a very yummy supper in the Hotel Regina and camped just a little bit above the cable car to Schilthorn.
